They hate lotd.

They certainly do.

I haven't read anything good about this film, aside from a short article by Stephen King in which good ole SK slyly suggests that we see the film because of it's historical importance(Land being the last of Romero's zombie films). He establishes the statement by also mentioning his last Dark Tower book, as if suggesting that we purchase/read it, too.

Why did Land's advertisements ignore history? No mention of the previous films.

US film audiences are now much like Japenese film audiences: they need an explanation when shown the undead. Why is Land of the Dead filled with zombies? One of the trailers looked like something from a really bad Jaws sequel or one of those attrocious Zombie sequels.

On the bright side, all the critics(whose work I've read) seem at least aware of Romero and his previous zombie films.

I read an article in the Brittish movie magazine EMPIRE and they were REALLY positive about it.
FilmValley (a Dutch film magazine) as well.

During the July 4th holiday, I saw a Land poster at the local theater which featured nothing but the text of a review from Variety Magazine. Strange that Variety liked Land, they usually frown on horror. These people are also the industry's biggest snobs and are given to stupid statements. Again, strange.

Saw it the other week. Great movie, but my tastes have moved on a lot in the last year or so. 4/5 I'd say.
