UK Teletext reports that British director Paul W. S. Anderson ("Alien vs. Predator", "Resident Evil") is to write the sixth movie in the "Alien" franchise.

My first thought is: who cares? Regardless, maybe he'll choke on it, or the studio will get smart and pull the plug on this nonsense. With FX budgets out of control, the suits will be leery of the next step made by the franchise.
Jeez, AVP was initially conceptualized over ten years ago, so Anderson's script could get dumped or overhauled before it gets the green light.
