Re: Opinion about day of the dead
Al those actors are almost unknown. Are there any other movies of Romero with well known actors?

Re: Opinion about day of the dead
Dark Half stars Timothy Hutton who is relatively well-known by name if not by face. Michael Rooker and Amy Madigan are also in the film. Creepshow features Ted Danson, Stephen King(okay, a well-known writer, but not as an actor), Leslie Nielsen, Hal Holbrook, E.G. Marshall, Fritz Weaver and Adrienne Barbeau. Ed Harris is in Creepshow but stars in Knightriders. He's become moderately famed in the U.S. during the past decade. Harris has had supporting roles in Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind, and Needful Things(where he played the same sherriff Michael Rooker played in Romero's Dark Half).
I had no idea Howard Sherman was so well known. I've seen him in an assload of movies and TV shows. I remembered his face from the 'Junior Mint' episode of Seinfeld and from The Stand where he played a scientist who studied Gary Sinise's characters immunity to the Superflu. In this movie, he succumbs to the flu and goes nuts. It's great. You must see it. By the by, I did just check IMDB to confirm all this.

Re: Opinion about day of the dead
As I've heard it Romero was once slated to direct the Stand but Stephen King had an ASSCLOWN named Mick Garris do it instead.

Re: Opinion about day of the dead
I think the reason Stephen King quit pestering Romero to adapt his books to film is because Romero would be more likely than some made-for-tv director to make script changes. King has too high an opinion of his own work. He talked !@#$ about Kubrick's adaptation of The Shining. For shame! The Stand was simply too long, but it was still an important film for Gary Sinise.
