Bub helps to kill Rhodes, and the infected black fellow kills his commanding officer. I saw an interview today in which Robert Rodriguez talks about digital film and computer effects. He says that these things are good because they are cheap and allow a film-maker to accomplish more kinds of scenes. Obviously, computer effects will be used much more now. Hopefully, these effects will improve. Have you seen Star Wars Episode 2? nondisclosed_email@example.com (abaddon1215)Sun, 22 Feb 2004 04:23:42 +0000 Re: New Stuffhttps://bthedeadtalkdeadrekindledforums.runboard.com/p1665,from=rss#post1665https://bthedeadtalkdeadrekindledforums.runboard.com/p1665,from=rss#post1665Some things in this movie looked familiar to Day of the Dead: infected chained for research, in a deleted scene the infected also attacked the house, but this was cut out. I think computer effects aren't that great. You must not use them for things which can be done without. A headblast shouldn't be done by computer because this looks fake. Like in Blade. In Dawn of the Dead this looked more realistic because the build a fake head and I thought the also blown it off with a shotgun. Somethings you must use computer because it's impossible to do it without, the most of the full battle scenes in Lord of the Rings.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Stefan Rops)Sat, 21 Feb 2004 16:11:23 +0000 Re: New Stuffhttps://bthedeadtalkdeadrekindledforums.runboard.com/p1664,from=rss#post1664https://bthedeadtalkdeadrekindledforums.runboard.com/p1664,from=rss#post1664About the Infected and the humans on the same screen: Digital film makes a fast-moving object seem blurry; this makes it very difficult to see if the Infected were added later. Computer effects are used very strangely. Several days ago, I watched a film about American cowboys. Many of the film's scenes are set outdoors. Computers were used to draw the sky in these scenes!nondisclosed_email@example.com (abaddon1215)Sat, 21 Feb 2004 04:56:34 +0000 Re: New Stuffhttps://bthedeadtalkdeadrekindledforums.runboard.com/p1663,from=rss#post1663https://bthedeadtalkdeadrekindledforums.runboard.com/p1663,from=rss#post1663I'm referring to the splatting blood after you saw the girl cutting down the infected with her machete. Also the rain was done by computer. I think when the living and the infecting were on one screen they only filmed the living and inserted the infecting later because they were moving twice as fast as human.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Stefan Rops)Fri, 20 Feb 2004 12:45:52 +0000 Re: New Stuffhttps://bthedeadtalkdeadrekindledforums.runboard.com/p1662,from=rss#post1662https://bthedeadtalkdeadrekindledforums.runboard.com/p1662,from=rss#post1662Also about House of the Dead: the writer/director of The Dead Hate The Living co-wrote the screenplay for House of the Dead. This fellow is a big fan of Lucio Fulci. I did not notice any computer effects used this way. It was very difficult to see anything during action scenes, because moving objects are somewhat blurry on digital film(this may be true of DVDs, as well). Are you referring to blood or wounds?nondisclosed_email@example.com (abaddon1215)Fri, 20 Feb 2004 05:09:26 +0000 Re: New Stuffhttps://bthedeadtalkdeadrekindledforums.runboard.com/p1661,from=rss#post1661https://bthedeadtalkdeadrekindledforums.runboard.com/p1661,from=rss#post1661About the zombies in House of the Dead: that's what I expected, the same zombies as in Burial Ground and Zombie 2 I guess. I must say I prefer more human like zombies. In 28 Days Later there was some splatter done by computer when the girl cuts some infected down with her machete. I didn't really liked it. Stupid link, I've also tried to insert the image before, at also didn't work out. The effects were not very good. Very little blood or gore is shown. The zombies are move quickly, but they are like mummies, as if filled with dust or dirt. The 28 Days Later alternate ending in which Jim dies was shown in U.S. theaters after the end of the movie. This was also shown on pay-tv. I also think there will be some BIG scenes in the sequel. Savini said the computers would be good to use in creating zombie make-up. He mentioned Terminator 3, and how computer effects were used to make part of Arnold's head invisible. This was also done in the film AI. I do not think that computers can do good splatters, but these can help when nothing else is possible. Your link did not work, but I found the poster anyway. This poster is good, but I like the version 2 poster more. nondisclosed_email@example.com (abaddon1215)Thu, 19 Feb 2004 04:30:43 +0000 Re: New Stuffhttps://bthedeadtalkdeadrekindledforums.runboard.com/p1659,from=rss#post1659https://bthedeadtalkdeadrekindledforums.runboard.com/p1659,from=rss#post1659With all the gore in House of the Dead, wasn't the movie unrated by this? On the 28 Days Later DVD there is also an alternative ending. The only difference is that Jim has died in this ending, that's all. The sequel to 28 Days Later hopefully shows invasion scenes. In the new trailer of the Dawn remake you'll see some of these scenes. Remember when that guy told Jim about he and his parents on the airport. It would be cool if this kind of scenes are included in the sequel. Zombie effects done by computer? NO WAY!!! Those splatters are much cooler if the are done like the old way. Do you know the movie Blade? It's with Wesley Snipes versus a group of vampires. Well, some head explode in this movie. You'll clearly see this was done by computer, it sucks. About the Dawn Remake. I've looked at IMDB and Rubinstein ísn't involved in the project. I found a new poster: http://i.imdb.com/Photos/Ss/0363547/dawn_of_the_dead_ver3.jpg nondisclosed_email@example.com (Stefan Rops)Wed, 18 Feb 2004 13:39:32 +0000 Re: New Stuffhttps://bthedeadtalkdeadrekindledforums.runboard.com/p1658,from=rss#post1658https://bthedeadtalkdeadrekindledforums.runboard.com/p1658,from=rss#post1658Tales from the Darkside: The Movie was released in time in which Paramount Pictures improved the quality of it's VHS releases. The company also began using copy-protection. I don't think that the Tales from the Darkside TV episode collections have been released on DVD. They were possibly only released on VHS once. The picture quality of these is terrible. The episodes were made very cheaply. I remember that John Harrison directed one episode and contributed music to other episodes. The only good thing in House of the Dead is shootings and gore. It was somewhat bad that everyone knew how to use guns. A few of the people use grenades. The movie reminded me of the Italian zombie films. House of the Dead's Producer said that the 28 Days Later sequel was called 48 Days Later. The scenes of the Infected dying in the end of part 1 were not originally intended. This movie made history in the U.S. because both endings were shown in theaters. Part 2 occurs before part 1's happy ending. It is hard to say if there will be style changes in part 2. Part 1 was made on a low budget, yet the film was widely released and earned very much money. It is easy to say that part 1 was not made for a young mainstream American audience. Now, the film-makers know part 2 will be widely released, so will they make the film for a young audience? The Infected might be slower in part 2 because they are all dying. Maybe part 2 will show America! Romero and Savini both said that special effects are much better. Savini says that zombie effects should be done by computer. Scenes from Day of the Dead were shown-the zombies attacking Miguel on the elevator platform and Rhodes death. Romero mentions Dead 4, but he does not say anything new about this. This is good because now more people will know about Dead 4. No one mentioned the Dawn remake because the footage was taken several months ago when no one was allowed to discuss it. I hope Romero is interviewed on the Dawn remake DVD, but it would be sad when he says he does not have money to make Dead 4. Isn't Richard Rubenstein involved with the Dawn remake? He owns the copyright to the name Dawn of the Dead. The law dictates that the remake producers must have his permission to use the name, and he would want money for this. Money for Dead 4? Remember that I predicted there would be ten HUGE zombie films between now and 2005? The five that I have heard of will probably be released in 2004.nondisclosed_email@example.com (abaddon1215)Wed, 18 Feb 2004 05:38:13 +0000 Re: New Stuffhttps://bthedeadtalkdeadrekindledforums.runboard.com/p1657,from=rss#post1657https://bthedeadtalkdeadrekindledforums.runboard.com/p1657,from=rss#post1657I prefered the third story because the special effects were good: the barkeeper who was been killed and the transformation scene at the end of the story. The movie itself was relaesed by Paramount: good picture quality but the DVD wasn't so there were some extras and it wasn't expensive: €5,= House of the Dead, in the video game you can shoot the zombies while the blood splatters everywhere. Is this also in the movie? A sequel of 28 Days Later, I hope this one got more splatter. I can't really imagine a sequel because al infected died at the end of the movie or were dying. I'm wondering, what are according to Romero and Savini the main differences between zombie movies then and zombie movies now?nondisclosed_email@example.com (Stefan Rops)Tue, 17 Feb 2004 16:04:08 +0000 Re: New Stuffhttps://bthedeadtalkdeadrekindledforums.runboard.com/p1656,from=rss#post1656https://bthedeadtalkdeadrekindledforums.runboard.com/p1656,from=rss#post1656I like all three of the stories. The monster story seems to be like a Hans Christian Anderson tale; the hero loses the woman that he loves because he broke a promise. Of course, he thought about the monster very much, because he painted it, and this was what caused him to lose his love. This movie was based on a television series that was shown in America during the 1980's. I remember seeing several episodes during that time. Romero directed an episode that is shown on Tales From The Darkside Volume Two. This episode featured only one actor, Jerry Stiller, who is now very famous in America. It was very good, but not scary. Savini also directed an episode(this might be available on volume five, six, or seven). This episode featured Fritz Weaver and a creature. TODAY I watched House of the Dead. I expected it to be bad, and I was not dissappointed. Also on this DVD, there was a short documentary about zombie films. The producer says that House of the Dead part 2 is already in production. He also says that 28 Days Later part 2 is being filmed. George Romero and Tom Savini were featured talking about how zombie movies are different today.nondisclosed_email@example.com (abaddon1215)Tue, 17 Feb 2004 06:15:54 +0000 Re: New Stuffhttps://bthedeadtalkdeadrekindledforums.runboard.com/p1655,from=rss#post1655https://bthedeadtalkdeadrekindledforums.runboard.com/p1655,from=rss#post1655Maybe the stranger did it because: you looked confindential to him and he just wanna tell someone what he did. It's about a boy who's been captured by a witch. During this he tells the witch three horror stories. One about a mummy, ths econd about a cat and the third one about a monster. I was walking into a store when a man asked me for a cigarette. I could see that the man was a poor criminal kind of person, but I gave him a cigarette because I did not want to make him angry. Then, he commented on the weather. I agreed with the man that the weather was cold, hot or whatever. What does the man say next? He tells me how much crack/cocaine he smoked on the previous day. The economic systems of the U.S. and Mexico are similar, but the actual economies are very different. The entertainment industry is the strongest thing in the U.S. A big problem in the U.S. is that factories are leaving. Many of these factories relocate to Mexico, or South American countries. Workers are paid very little in Mexico, thus companies can make products cheaper(and keep more money for the bosses' salary). Mexican workers that build cars do not have the money to buy a car that they helped make. A free trade agreement was also enacted between Canada, Mexico and the U.S. Meanwhile in the U.S., lost jobs are not replaced, and in Mexico, workers are still paid very little. Thus, the main difference between the U.S. and Mexico is this: Americans speak English and are somewhat wealthy while Mexicans speak Spanish and are very poor. Globally speaking, the U.S. is a marketplace and Mexico is one of it's suppliers. You are correct that many Americans do not wear sombreros. Many of us wear baseball hats. The U.S. government is presently considering free healthcare. Many European countries have free healthcare, right? Is this good? Many new drugs are created by American companies, but most of these do not save lives. (As I write this, there is a commercial playing on my television about a drug called Enzyte which offers 'Natural Male Enhancement'. Enzyte is one of many drugs being heavily marketed in my country which supposedly cure male sexual disfunction. I wonder if Michael Jackson uses this medication to treat a supposed disfunction.) I have heard that much of the new treatments and equipment comes from Europe.nondisclosed_email@example.com (abaddon1215)Sat, 14 Feb 2004 05:16:55 +0000 Re: New Stuffhttps://bthedeadtalkdeadrekindledforums.runboard.com/p1649,from=rss#post1649https://bthedeadtalkdeadrekindledforums.runboard.com/p1649,from=rss#post1649Can you mention the main difference between Mexico and the US? What I have heard of Area 51: One day, a U.S. jet crashed near this military facility. The wounded pilot was taken there for medical treatment. Several civilians saw this happening and later claimed to have seen an alien(instead of a wounded U.S. pilot) being taken into one of the facility's buildings. Officially, the original alien story was not imagined-it was merely a false observation. Today, military officers are forbidden to speak about Area 51. It is possible that there are experimental aircraft or some other kind of secret items being stored there. The NSA is the National Security Agency. The government was not informed of what the agents were doing until the operation was ready. The agents told the government that within a few days Saddam Hussein would be killed by a group of rebels(the CIA had organized this group). If the agents had not asked permission of their superiors, Saddam Hussein would have been killed in the operation planned by the agents. A large amount of the CIA's activities involves information collecting(each year they publish a CIA WORLD FACTBOOK, this document is available for download free of charge, I caution you that this document is HUGE). This information is used by various parts of the government. Much of what the organization does is known by the government, and co-ordinated with the State Department, Department of Defense, and etc. There is a chance that the CIA might do evil things that few people notice, but the organization can be controlled as much as any other. I have heard a story about a rebellion in a South American country. The U.S. government ordered the CIA to help a fruit company take control of this small country(it is not Panama or Colombia). Agents placed big audio speakers in various buildings of the country's capitol city. Several U.S. jets flew over the country as the CIA agents played sounds of gunfire and bombs exploding over the speakers! That country's government believed that they had been attacked by the United States, and fled quickly.nondisclosed_email@example.com (abaddon1215)Thu, 12 Feb 2004 04:44:57 +0000 Re: New Stuffhttps://bthedeadtalkdeadrekindledforums.runboard.com/p1645,from=rss#post1645https://bthedeadtalkdeadrekindledforums.runboard.com/p1645,from=rss#post1645Does it happen that the CIA does things the government don't know about it? There is probably no unemployment-insurance, or healthcare. Mexicans see that the standard of living is better in the U.S. There are millions of Mexicans in the U.S. illegally; they cannot receive any kind of government help. What many of these people want is the worst jobs in this country, because they feel this is better than living in Mexico. Recently, there has been debate about allowing illegal Mexicans to obtain U.S. driver's licenses. The U.S. police cannot arrest criminals in Mexico. Criminals from the U.S. flee to Mexico because they believe the Mexican police will not be aware of their crime. Police in the U.S. and Mexico communicate better now than in past years. I think the United States government is ignorant of Islam, and this is evident in Afghanistan now. People were told several months ago that the women of Afghanistan would be granted the same liberties that men have, but is this so?
