Those sort of crimes do not happen much anymore. There are still many robberies, but few of these are murders, too. Most murders in the U.S. are about anger.

I heard in the US people will shoot someone faster then in other countries.

Here munders don't happen often. Last month the remains of a couple were found. They were hidden by a farmer.

This is more true than I like to admit. This morning a boy shot another boy in the head-this happened less than two miles from my home! Also, I see on the TV news today that a boy and a crossing-guard were killed because, nearby, two gangs of kids were shooting at each other. Again, these murders are commited in anger. People in the U.S. have always been capable of murder without reason, but only recently have kids begun doing this. It is very sad.

Perhaps, when a child commits murder, his parents should be arrested, as well. I believe many parents do not know their children nor do many parents teach children how to live in society.

About the Truman Capote book: It was adapted to film in 1967. Robert Blake portrayed one of the murderers. Currently, Robert Blake is on trial for murder.

In Holland a guy called Peter R. De Vries goes after murderers from the past, which haven't been arrested yet. His programms are shown on tv. He often succeed by doing those extra investigations. Last year he made an ivestigation to the girlfriend of the royal prince. Rumours said that she slept with Klaas Bruinsma, a top criminal from Holland, he's been killed some years ago. For the investigation he went to Chili, one of his former bodyguards lived there. In broken Dutch he told Peter everything. After this it all came in the media. Finally the prince wasn't allowed to mary his girlfriend. He will mary her, so he can't be the successor of the queen. He was the second child of the queen so he wouldn't have any chances anyway because the crown prince is before him. Although there was a lot of panic when they discovered the wife of the crown pince was the daughter of one of the former ministers of Pinochet. He was minister of agriculture. But this marriage was allowed by the government.

Do you live in Texas? Is there still a lot of discrimination? I heard when a black guy gets killed police won't even start an investigation.

It sounds like royal life is difficult.

I live in South Carolina. This state is located in the south-east United States, on the Atlantic coast. The battle flag of the Confederate States of America sits atop the capital building. This state is considered by many to be the most racist state in the U.S. However, all murders are treated equally here. The population is nearly 50% black. When these people feel that they are being treated unfairly, they protest. The last protest in my area happened more than ten years ago.

Texas is not a very descriminatory state, because it's population has always been diverse.

In the US the Civil War is very famous. But with history I've never really learned it. We only learn about matters in Europe like World War 1 & 2, and also what happened in Germany. In the US is was nord against south right? Was this black against white? And why exactly and when?

In Holland there's no discrimination against black people. Most of them live in Rotterdam and Amsterdam, don't know why. There is discrimination against foreigners like people from Marocco and Turkey. There was a whole excitement about an alderman who accidently said KUT-Marokkanen (comparable to: !@#$ Maroccans). Later the media discovered he went to hookers and that he used coke, enough information to put him off his job. In the US hookers are illegal, I don't think you'll ever understand Holland, because in Holland hookers are legal.

Many Americans call the civil war 'the war between the states', though sometimes in the South it is referred to as 'the war of northern agression'. Most people now believe that this war was 'black vs white', but this is not true. Slavery was part of the reason that the war happened, but there were more reasons. Many people in the North and South did not care about slavery. The problem was this: the southern states believed that the federal/national government had violated state rights. The war began in South Carolina in 1861 and ended in Virginia in 1865 after the slaves were declared free.

The issue of slavery was not truly settled until the 1960's, when the Equal Rights Amendment was written into the U.S. Constitution. This amendment officially guaranteed the equality of every American.

Prostitution is illegal in the U.S., but no one gets arrested for this if it is regulated. The police are mostly concerned with this spreading disease and causing robberies. Also, prostitution is not considered a problem here if it is kept hidden. Illegal drugs are sometimes allowed, as well. It seems that my country is governed by morals instead of laws. A HUGE debate is underway presently in the goverment about gay marriage. People claim that marriage is Christian, and the Christian Bible says that homosexuals are 'an abomination'. Gay marriage is then considered evil. People fail to realize that the bible also states that it is wrong to cut your hair! I do not understand why it is wrong for gay people to marry; how does this hurt anyone? It is blind tradition that rules the U.S.

People here who go to a hooker are often those people like, it's hard to explain, but a normal civilian won't go to a hooker, that's for sure. In the rude way of the word: people from the darkside of the society.

Softdrugs is allowed here. In movies of the USA I see younsters using softdrugs, just for the kick. You can see this in the TCM remake, Final Destination for example. I don't know younsters use this in real life. Here, the same as for prostitution, normal civilians won't use softdrugs. Youngster not at all.

Gay marriage is allowed here and I thought it's also allowed in Canada. Is it true that being gay is forbidden in some states? I think we live in a modern world were things have changed so if you take the rules in this matter from the bible I think you're very weak. Like Bush for example. The bible hasn't any influence anymore so why in this matter?

Very many U.S. youngsters use softdrugs.

One problem is that in the U.S. there is no legal definition of what marriage is. Bush and the Congress do not want the responsibility of deciding this debate. Bush wants each state to decide if gay marriage should be legal or not. Bush realizes that many states would allow this, and many would not, so he feels it best that they decide for themselves. It is difficult to understand why the Bible is influencing this debate. In many parts of the U.S., it is illegal to buy beer on Sundays, because people go to churches on this day. It is also illegal for many kinds of businesses to be open during the time of the morning church service. This makes little sense, because most people do not attend church.

But if it's illegal how do younsters get it so easy?

Here church hasn't any influence any more. There are some parties here which base there rules on the bible. One of them is even so strict they won't allow women to their party.
