Texas Chainsaw Cash-Grab(a true story!)

I'm sure that this remake will suck. This film will in no way surpass the original. Another thing: I bet the new one has a happy ending.

It's playing right now at the closest theatre to my home-and guess what-I'm not going to go see it! From seeing the trailer on t.v. I know there are additional family members in the new film. I saw an old chick. Apparently, she sits around and philosophises about why LeatherfaceBubba does the zany things he does. The older brother was a great character in the first film, and I doubt his role has been given good treatment in the remake.

The TCM? I thought the old one has also a happy ending, the girl escapes after all.
I saw part 4: TCM - Next Generation. This was just I remake, a lot of things you'll see in part 1 you'll also see in this part. Weird.

Have you seen part 3? Ken Foree(also known as Peter in Dawn of the Dead) plays the hero. This is like another old saying-"when there's no more room in hell, get more gas for the chainsaw".

I believe the reason different people are trying to remake the original TCM is that no one today can make a decent original movie.

The girl escaping in the end of part 1 is the only happy thing about the movie. Bubba survives with his chainsaw still in working order; you must consider this a victory for him.

Yes, that's right. Leatherface wasn't killed. I only don't know what happened to the truck driver at the end. Sally jumped on a car that drove away but where was the truck driver that killed that freak who almost got Sally when she runs away? In Next Generation Leatherface has three masks: normal one, the old lady mask and pretty girl mask. Is this also in part 2 and 3?

I've never seen part 3 but I saw the scene when Foree opens the fire on Leatherface and his friends. He shoots Leatherface dead, I think, he felt. And another guy lost two fingers and an ear by his gunshots. Also grandma and grandpa were killed by Foree, but they are already dead, right? In Next Generation the grandpa came back to life, also in part one, is he a zombie?

I heard part 2 and 3 were very gory. Next Generation wasn't very gory, the same as part 1 Is part 2 good? I can buy it for €10,- I must say I was enjoyed by part 1 and Next Generation (part 4).

Leatherface seemed angry in the end of part 1. He probably caught the truck driver. Only what Sally knew is mentioned in part 2.

I don't think Leatherface had other masks in part 2. The mask he wore in that movie looked like the one he wore in the end of part 1. In part 3, he wears only one mask that has blonde hair, but I don't know if it is a woman mask or not.

Leatherface doesn't get shot dead in part 3, but Foree shoots most of the other crazy family members.

Grandma and Grandpa don't get shown much in part 3. They may have been truly dead. In part 1 and 2 Grandpa seems so old that his body might be rotting. He might have a disease. Grandma might be dead in part 1. She is only shown once in part 2, but she is very important.

Part 2 has at least two VERY GOOD gore scenes. Tom Savini did the special effects. The two scenes I remember are some of his best work. The movie is not as slow as the original. There are many laughs, and the crazy family is on the screen a lot more. A friend of mine gave me a VHS copy of the movie, so I did not have to make the decision to spend money on it. It is worth seeing, though.

You encouraged me to buy part 2, I will!
Effects by Tom Savini are always good. He did them also in Friday the 13th, but I must say the movie didn't really interested me at all.
But is Leatherface always the same guy, not the actors, but I mean, isn't the Leatherface in for example Next Generation not for example the son of the Leatherface in part 1? Those family members are always different, right or will I see that old guy from part 1 (he didn't went after Sally when she jumped through the window) also in part 2?

Supposedly, there is only one Leatherface. The guy in part 1 and 2 are more alike than the others. I do not know about the latest movie.

Part 1
Leatherface(Gunnar Hansen)
Old Man(Jim Seidow)
Hitch-hiker(Edwin Neil)

Part 2
Leatherface(Bill Johnson?) similar enough to part 1
Old Man(Jim Seidow) same as part 1
Chop Top(Bill Moseley?) not in part 1 at all-during this time he was in Vietnam War(1973?)
(supposedly the Hitch-hiker's dead body is near the dinner table-I did not notice, but I've heard this somewhere)

Part 3
Leatherface(who cares who the actor is)very different to the others, childish yet super-strong with knee-brace(a reference to part 1, maybe)
Old Man(?) completely different, and not old
Other family members appear without explanation(as if no one had seen the previous two films)
Also: The family kills for food during these movies. They view people as cattle. This is not the case in part 4.

Part 4
Leatherface-different character-vocal sounds like original, different costume, dresses like woman(with cleavage..)
Other family members explained as operatives of illuminati, their purpose is unknown(though almost explained in movie)
(I regret watching the movie very much. Can anyone give me amnesia?)

I ordered part 2, I'm very curious.
Why is part 4 according to you so bad? I liked it, it was a sort of remake, now with another background. Some things were stupid. They treat the people they caught the same as in part 1. Just for having fun with them, I think. Especially that sadistic Vilmer, he was good.
Why aren't these wicked guys arrested? Didn't Sally went to the police after she got away?
Are there plans for a TCM 5 or can I see the remake as a part 5?
