Re: the other Night of the Zombies

The Night of the Zombies(aka Gamma 693 or Night of the Weirmacht Zombies) mentioned above with the WWII soldiers, the gas, and NICK(super agent) was directed by Joel M. Reed and not Ken Weiderhorn. Weiderhorn brought us the psuedo-classics Shockwaves and Return of the Living Dead 2. Whoops.
I've got the early eighties oversized movie box labeled Night of the Zombies. Yet, as stated above, the label on the cassette claims it's a sequel. Perhaps the producers feared retaliation from the makers of the cheap Dawn rip-off, and decided to call it a sequel after the U.S. packaging was completed.

The Night of the Zombies film with the partial Goblin soundtrack is known as Apocalipsis Canibal, Hell of the Living Dead, and Zombie Creeping Flesh. The director, Bruno Mattei, used the pseudonym Vincent Dawn. How appropriate.

Re: Night of the Zombies

Return of the Living dead is a classic zombie film you must see it. Its a very 80's horror/comedy, the zombies are virtually indestructible, fast moving and, intelligent. The effects are great and there is plenty of gore. Tarman is one of the most intelligent elaborate zombies ever made. You live a deprived life for a zombie fan if you can't get a hold of this movie.

As for Redneck zombies its all around bad. It seems like a group of friends wanted to have some fun, picked up a video camera and made a really cheesy movie. Its like a very low budget Troma movie. The acting is bad and the movie runs a little too long. However, if your looking for gore you will find plenty of it in this one. The reason I picked this one up was that it was filmed in Maryland my home state. Well, I haven't run into any zombies yet just rednecks.

I have Zombie Lake, but haven't gotten around to watching it yet.
And I just ordered The Dead Hate The Living, as soon as I watch these, I'll tell you what they're like man...

I haven't seen some of those "backyard" zombiemovies yet. Maybe it'll be a little fun. That movie night of the zombies has a lot of other names: virus, zombie creeping flesh, hell of the living dead, [sign in to see URL]. But there are two of them, there is another night of the zombies. This is weird, why don't you give a movie just one title?

Re: NOTZ(SS Approved Version), Return, and I Zombie

I'm horrified to see those movie boxes again. I'm going to scan my box cover.

Return of the Living Dead is considered Night of the Living Dead co-writer John Russo's attempt at a sequel to Night. Watch for the 're-animated' skeleton who actually has no tissue or organs of any kind except for eyes and eye-lids. Return is considered a comedy, but frights are frequent in it. This film creates a sense of dread in it's opening moments, before any zombies pop up. TarMan is just nasty.

I, Zombie is a low-budget British flick with a sparse cast. The overall point of the film is to show a guy turn into a zombie. Slowly, the man begins to decay. The most memorable scene of the film is when he tries to masturbate. The movie is a little slow at certain points, but the premise is solid enough to keep the intrigue going. This film is definitely worth watching.

Did anyone have ever seen the movie City of the Walking Dead aka nightmare city , it's from the makers of that sick damn cannibal ferox. It's about fast run zombies who kill people with knifes, guns etc.

I've been wanting to see "The Dead Next Door". It looks like it's as close as it gets to Dawn of the Dead. I was wondering if anyone's seen it?

Re: Zombie gore

I've didn't seen it (yet).
The picture looks if those zombies are in prison, weird idea. Maybe it's just a comedy like Braindead, that's ok, I like Braindead (aka Dead Alive). Great humour emoticon

Maybe it's serious, who knows. I prefer serious, that's why I liked dawn and day
