Question about Day Se

My dad is in New York at the moment. I've asked him to look for the Special Edition of Day of the Dead.
I was just wondering: is there a chance he will find a copy or is this DVD sold out for a long time? emoticon

Re: Question about Day Se

I bought the Day SE only seven hours ago at the local WalMart. Price: 14.44 US dollars. As a matter of fact, I haven't had time to see it yet. It is the 2004 copyrighted Divimax edition, but I've found no special features other than two commentary tracks.

The fact that WalMart has this DVD is encouraging, because they've obviously ordered Day SE by the millions of units. The demand for this isn't very high though, so these will be in the bargain bin soon, unless they are used in a LandOTD marketing campaign.

Day SE should be very easy to find. Good luck to you and your father. And if all else fails, tell him to go to WalMart.

I just received an email. He got him.
But what you wrote:
no special features other than two commentary tracks.
I don't get it? That's not the SE! There must be special features on it I read!

I hope I have some special features.

Re: Question about Day Se

I heard that the SE was supposed to have several featurettes. I can't explain why none of them appear on my DVD, but perhaps these are easter eggs. The Dawn US Theatrical DVD released in early 2004 had several interviews hidden as easter eggs. I hope that this is the case with Day. Else I will feel cheated!!!

How much discs does your DVD have? It must be two discs!
I guess you have only one disc, that's why the only features are two commentary tracks.

I feel cheated! My DVD is only one disc. I only have the two commentary tracks....

I must be careful next time.

Tomorrow my dad comes home. I hope he has the 2-disc set. But what about the cover? Was the cover the same? And was there a booklet?
Man, I hope my father has the 2-disc set. Fingers crossed.

The cover appears identical. The Divimax logo appears on the front. On the back, the description reads: "This is the ultimate edition of DAY OF THE DEAD." No booklet, only a one-page insert: on one side is an old promotional poster("first there was night of the living dead, then dawn of the dead, and now the darkest day of horror the world has ever known"), on the other side is the chapter list.

Hope you get the 2 disc.

Alright. It's the 2-disc set emoticon
But guess what: the disc with the film can't play because it's damaged according to my computer. That sucks! Luckily the disc with the extras is fine and I'm happy with that because these extras were more important to me.
For so far I only have to listen the audio interview with Richard Liberty and the documantary: The many days of Day of the Dead.
I've watched a behind the scenes fragment which started pretty slow and boring because in the first halve you only see make up stuff and it repeats and repeats but then you see some nice gory effects from behind the scenes.
Here are some stills and some screenshots of the behind the scenes feature.
