Have people in...ever heard about the dead-trilogy?

Hello dudes,

Here in Holland the most of the people didn't ever heard about the dead-triologie. It's a shame, I know, but do the most of the people in England also don't know about the dead-triologie or are they well known movies?

Later

Stefan

Most people in the UK have heard about Night of the Living Dead, but not Dawn or Day. All the films have pretty big fan -bases. I wouldn't be surprised if Britain get's it own convention sooner or later. The last Dawn convention in Europe was in Hamburg, Germany this May just passed. They'll be back next year if your interested.

Any more replies?
There must be some of you who live in the US!
Are the movies well known there or not?

I don't think its any different in the US. Night had some mainstream success more so than the others. Horror fans aren't in short supply it depends on there preference. The zombie genera has more of a cult following and, I know the film industry has reconized this due to the remakes and new films coming out now and in the near future. Anyway, I found that horror conventions are a guarantee way of meeting other dead fans.

Night of the Living Dead will always be the most remembered, people often forget that it was the movie that was truly original, shocking, and paved they way for Wes Craven, John Carpenter, David Cronenberg + many more directors. This is why people who don't even like horror have either heard about or seen Night, it's as simple as that.

Dawn and Day are unknown films here. I found out a few weeks ago that people were renting Dawn Director's Cut on DVD from a local video store. I was amazed. I have asked seven or eight people to watch Dawn, and all of them have hated it. Maybe everyone shouldn't be made aware of the trilogy.
I once bought a copy of Night of the Living Dead in a grocery store for $4.99. I later saw it on sale in a discount store for about the same price, yet packaged by a different distributor.

I don't believe these movies are all that popular here in the states. They are only popular with us horror fiends, but for the majority of the people around here atleast have never heard of these movies. And when you mention zombie, they're like...nothing I want to see...

That's right. All of my friend hate it when they saw it exept a few ones. And of course, it's cult but do you know what strange is. When dawn came on television all articles I've read about it were positive, very positive! So don't think everyone hate dawn.

Here in Holland people call the dead triology B-movies. I don't know if this term exist in English. A B-movie is a movie with a lot of gore, simple plot, low budget etc. People look very negative to this movies, no !@#$ if you look to Fulci and cannibal !@#$. But the movies of the dead triology are B movies but the aren't as bad as Fulci movies etc. Because in the dead triology there is profound, satire.
And in the UK, US and other countries, how do the people look to the movies, just a B-film or something more?

Trilogy of the B-movies? !@#$, are you sure...that's usually the term given to really piss poor monster and ufo movies. Movies like "Plan 9 from outer space" carry that slogan.
